Kilt Rock, Thirty to Midnight.

The problem with making night pictures in high latitudes as summer approaches is that “night” evades its common meaning and gets closer and closer to being an abstraction.
The technical term “Astronomical Twilight” may apply, depending on how close to the poles you are, meaning there simply may be no real nighttime, even as “low” as Scotland. Fact is, you may have only a few hours in which the sky won’t look like daytime’s in longer exposures

Marginal

An old one, from the files. São Paulo, half a block from the Marginal Pinheiros avenue. Right beside an abandoned factory who is to become the latest mega-plus-ultra high rise condo in town… One more example of the city´s almost total lack of planning, contributing to the virtually perpetual traffic jam that seems to be part of the cityscape in recent years.

The Scientist

Last day in town, and that guy you´ve only exchanged a few messages with now says he´s all about taking pictures. Even better, he has access to a very interesting research facility.
So we set sail… To the lab!
Thank you Daniel.

Between Earth and Sky

What do you do when you´re driving back home, after a long, busy day, and an almost full moon emerges from the sea in a beautiful night?

You find a small road towards the countryside, leave the busier one, and seize the moment…

Noronha

Fernando de Noronha is one of those remote places still virtually unknown internationally. A kind of iconic site, that lures the visitor with dreamscapes, it has brought both heaven and hell to those who attempted to settle along the centuries. Nowadays, arrival by both plane and boat is restricted to a small number of people per day, and the stay in the island to non habitants is taxed progressively, as to discourage long stays. In off peak seasons, it’s somewhat common to find a beach just for yourself for a while. At night, an eerie atmosphere may claim the whole place. Due to its isolation and the scarce light sources, being on a huge, deserted area, watching the stars actually reflect on the wet sand in a moonless night can be quite an experience.

Inspired by rhiz’hommes.

“Rhiz’hommes is an artistic project that aims to be a collective self-portrait of homoerotic masculinity. Images that dialogues between self contemplation and sterile distance.”
