I had never seen a comet. Ever since Halley’s last visit, and the subsequent frustration it caused in kids like me back then, it was a kind of burning ambition. A few weeks ago, I had the knowledge a comet was in the neighbourhood, and a trip scheduled to cross high and remote terrain (where it would be possible at least trying to see our visitor, since it was reported to be barely visible to the naked eye). So I took some time to stop by and try some pictures. That small green dot a bit off the center of the image is my dear C/2014 Q2 Lovejoy, who´s been paying us a visit in the past few weeks.

Eu nunca havia visto um cometa. Desde a última visita do Halley, e a frustração que ele causou em crianças como eu na época, isso era um desejo imenso meu. Umas semanas atrás, eu sabia de um cometa que estava na vizinhança, e de uma viagem que cruzaria uma região alta e remota (onde seria possível ao menos tentar ver nosso visitante, já que se informava que mal seria visível a olho nu). Então eu separei um tempinho pra parar na estrada e tentar fazer umas fotos. O pontinho verde um pouco deslocado do centro da imagem é meu querido C/2014 Q2 Lovejoy, que tem nos visitado nas últimas semanas.
