Em 2012 eu fui contactado por um estudante que acabou sendo fotografado no meu projeto Leia o Perfil.
Na época nossas conversas nos levaram pra o edifício onde estava sendo instalada uma faculdade. Os últimos andares estavam incompletos, com obras em andamento, e foi neles que fizemos as fotos. A minha favorita foi feita no terraço, mostrando o cara se fundindo com a cidade, que era uma das idéias que ele me inspirou. Lembro de um desejo forte dele de concluir o curso, sair da cidade onde vivia na grande São Paulo e se estabelecer na capital.
Ele acabou sendo um dos poucos fotografados com quem não mantive contato através dos anos. Recentemente, fazendo backup de arquivos, eu passei por aquelas fotos de novo e me veio a idéia de escrever pro email que usamos na época e perguntar como ele estava. Saber como tinham se saído os planos e como estava levando a situação atual. Felizmente os planos dele se concretizaram e ele vive atualmente em São Paulo.
Daí comecei a mexer naquelas fotos de novo e enviei pra ele outras que não foram consideradas nos dois posts em 2012. Ele também achou que seria bom publicar algumas delas, e aqui estão…

In 2012 I was contacted by a student who ended up being photographed for my Read the Profile project. At the time, out conversations took us to sneak into a building that was in the process of being occupied by a college. The last few floors weren’t finished yet, with ongoing refurbishing works, and we used them to make the photos. My favourite one was made in the terrace, showing the guy blending with the city in the background, which was one of the ideas he had inspired me during our conversations. I remember his strong will to finish college and leave the city in greater Sao Paulo from where he commuted every day and be able to move and settle in the capital.
He ended up being one of the few people I photographed that I lost touch with along the years.
Recently, while doing a routine backup, I went through those photos again and came up with the idea of writing to the email address we used to communicate back then to find out how he was, to get to know how did his plans turn out, and how he was dealing with the current situation. Fortunately his plans and goals were successfully met and he currently lives in Sao Paulo.
I then started to go through processing those images again and sent him some that weren’t considered for the couple posts I did in 2012. He also thought it would be a good idea to publish some of them, so here they are…
