Juntos. Acho que todos os meus amigos compartilham a mesma vontade.
Eu tentei juntar alguns deles. Pedi que fizessem fotos nas suas salas, voltados pra porta de entrada. Em algum momento espero repetir cada uma dessas fotos, quando o encontro for possível. Por agora vou juntando da maneira possível, de dois em dois.

Rodrigo vive em São Paulo. É um artista que eu admiro, cujos trabalhos têm temas instigantes e fazem um uso fantástico da cor. A gente até se vê muito pouco pra quem vive na mesma cidade, mas acredito que exista uma admiração recíproca. Já expusemos num mesmo evento e espero que alguma coisa assim seja possível em breve. André mora em Belo Horizonte e tem um trabalho que lhe permite atuar de casa durante a pandemia. Uma situação privilegiada num país que escolheu colocar o lucro à frente das pessoas e vem expondo sua população maciçamente à contaminação, principalmente nos locais de trabalho e transporte público. Mesmo assim, depois de quase um ano e meio em isolamento, a situação se torna cada vez mais incômoda e, naturalmente, a falta de contato humano acaba sendo um peso. Espero poder encontrar André nos próximos meses pra gente finalmente se conhecer pessoalmente e fazer a versão presencial dessa foto.

Together. I believe all my friends share the same yearning.
I tried to get some of my friends together. I asked them to take photos in their living rooms, facing the front door. At some point I hope to replicate each of those images in person, when meeting is possible again. For now I’m getting them together the way I can, a couple friends each time.

Rodrigo lives in São Paulo. He’s an artist I admire, whose works have provocative themes and a fantastic use of colour. We don’t get to see each other so much for folks who live in the same city, but I believe there’s a mutual appreciation. We’ve displayed our works in a same event a while ago and I hope something like that will be possible again some time soon in the future.

André lives in Belo Horizonte, a regional center in the southeast of Brazil. His job allows him to work from home during the pandemic. A privileged situation in a country that opted putting profit over people and has been systematically and massively exposing its population to contagion risk, mainly in working places and public transport. Even though, after almost a year and half of isolation, the situation gets more and more uncomfortable, and, naturally, the lack of human interaction ends up becoming a growing burden. I hope we can meet in the coming months to finally get to know each other in person and replicate this image.
